Looking up from the coffin
I see you look down at me
A strange comfort in your unknown gaze
I look around for a familiar face
I feel less life in my cold veins
The sun rays penetrate my skin
A rare warmth strengthens me
A gush of blood hits my head
I am still; but not as frozen as they are
My searching eyes don't give up
Everywhere they've looked but to my side
I see you lying beside me like every night
And I feel safe; I rest in peace.
I see you look down at me
A strange comfort in your unknown gaze
I look around for a familiar face
I feel less life in my cold veins
The sun rays penetrate my skin
A rare warmth strengthens me
A gush of blood hits my head
I am still; but not as frozen as they are
My searching eyes don't give up
Everywhere they've looked but to my side
I see you lying beside me like every night
And I feel safe; I rest in peace.
